After several
false starts with bad weather we finally got a fine Sunday (August 28th) for a run to the
Panorama Motorcycle Museum in the beautiful Fassifern Valley.
It rained all
day Saturday and the Wallabies beat the All Blacks at Lang Park on Saturday in
front of a sell-out crowd which could have affected numbers. A couple of the
XS’s were also off the road so three members made the run, Glen on his TX,
Perry on his Triumph and Tony on a Kawasaki. Ivan and his XS missed the meeting
point and did their own run.
The Museum has been built over three generations of the one family and contains a very well presented array of post war motorcycles plus other working engines, farm implements and assorted memorabilia. The bike display is dominated by Harleys and Indians with a mix of British and Japanese bikes.
The museum is open by appointment only but is normally open on Sundays. It is well worth a visit if you are out in that part of the world.
Our next local
Club event is the Cleveland Bike Show on 9 October.
